Update 31st July

Chris Callan, Bernard Furey and Evelyn O'Donnell were €20 winners at the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in the Craoibhin Bar. The jackpot wasn’t won. It will be at €1,400 for the next draw on Saturday Aug 4th which will be held in Clarke's Bar.

The Cooney Motors/Centra play Kilglass Gaels in the Division 5 league on Saturday Aug 5th at 7pm in the Abbey Park.

The club is asking who ever borrowed or otherwise the big grey bench from outside the old dressing room to return it please. 

The minors played St. Faithleach's last week in division 3 championship and the game ended in a draw. They now play Kilglass Gaels/St. Barry's Thursday Aug 3rd in Tarmonbarry at 7:30pm.

LADIES FOOTBALL:

Intermediate Ladies lost to Western Gaels by 2 points.  U15 girls play Shannon Gaels in the final of the Sean Daly Cup. Details to be confirmed.


Well done to the U10 and U8 girls in their matches against Shannon Gaels.

Update 24th July


Keiran Cox, Eileen Comer and Bernard Shannon were €20 winners at the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in Dodd's Bar. The jackpot wasn’t won. It will be at €1,300 for the next draw on Saturday July 29th which will be held the Craoibhin Bar, with Team 13 in charge. 

Boyle GAA Club encourage members to support the Club Rossie draw.  Club members will be promoting the draw in the run up to the All Ireland quarter final. While an individual can purchase a ticket, the cost of the ticket can be shared by a group of friends etc. Remember 'the best is yet to come'.

Best wishes to Enda, Donie and Cian in the All-Ireland Quarter-final against Mayo next Sunday in Croke Park.

An excellent Goalkeeping Workshop was given by Joe Sweeney on Monday last in the Abbey Park which was very well received by all coaches who attended.  A special word of thanks to Joe and the underage keepers who assisted him namely Rob, Liam, Sean, Rebecca & Ruth.

UNDERAGE:
The U-14 Division 1 team play Roscommon Gaels on Wednesday July 26th, in the Abbey Park at 7:30pm. The minor team play St Faithleach's on Thursday July 27th, in the Abbey Park at 8:15pm.

LADIES FOOTBALL:
Well done to the U8 and U10 girls who played Ballinameen on Friday.

U15 Sean Daly Memorial Cup, Boyle V's Shannon Gaels in the Croghan on Wednesday 26th. Time TBC.


Intermediate Ladies lost to Eire Og in Round 4 of the Championship. They play Western Gaels in Round 5 on  Saturday 29th July at 7pm in the Abbey Park.

Update 17th July

Chris Ennis, Ross Shannon and Shane McDonnell were €20 winners at the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in Moylurg's Bar. The jackpot wasn’t won. It will be at €1,200 for the next draw on Saturday July 22nd which will be held in Dodd's Bar, with Team 12 in charge. 

The McGovern Directional Drilling sponsored seniors defeated St.Faithleach's in the division 2 league on Saturday last thus guaranteeing promotion to division 1 next year. The club wishes Karl Kelly a speedy recovery after he sustained an injury before Saturday's game.  

The Cooney Motors sponsored juniors were defeated by Micheal Glavey's in the division 5 league on Sunday last. They have two games this week in the Junior B championship, they play Fuerty on Wednesday evening in Oran at 8pm and play Kilglass Gaels on Sunday July 23rd in the Abbey Park at 2pm.

Congratulations to David O'Connor, senior team selector who celebrated a significant birthday recently.

The U-16 were defeated by Strokestown last week. Their next game is against St. Brigid's on Tuesday in Abbey Park at 7:30pm.

The U-14's were defeated by Clan na nGael last week. Their next game is against St. Brigid's on Thursday in the Abbey Park at 7:30pm.

LADIES FOOTBALL:

Well done to the Intermediate Ladies on their win over Michael Glaveys in Rd 3 of the Championship.

Update 10th July

Congratulations to Enda, Donie and Cian on claiming the Connacht senior championship on Sunday last. Well done to Enda who received the man of the match award.

Well done the Cooney Motors sponsored juniors who defeated St. Faithleach's in the Division 5 league last Saturday evening. Their next game is away to Michael Glavey's Sunday July 16th, in Ballinlough at 1pm.

The McGovern directional drilling sponsored seniors play St. Faithleach's in the Division 2 league next Staturday evening July 15th, in the Abbey Park at 6:30pm.

UNDERAGE:The U-14 division 1 team were defeated by Clann Na nGael in the championship last week. The U-16 division 1 team play Strokestown Monday 10th, in the Abbey Park at 7:30pm. They also play St. Brigids Sunday 16th, in the Abbey Park at 12:00pm.

LADIES FOOTBALL: 

Intermediate Ladies are away to Michael Glaveys in Round 3 of the Championship on  Sunday 16th July @ 12pm.

U8 & U10 played their first Go games against Tulsk on Thursday.  Well done to all the girls.

The U15s beat Western Gaels in the first round of the Sean Daly Memorial Cup. Next match is v's Elphin/Kilmore in the Abbey Park on 19th July at 7.30pm. 

Best wishes to the Roscommon U16 Ladies team in the All Ireland B Championship Semi final V's Kildare on Wednesday 12th July @ 7pm in Kinnegad. Club players Kate Harrington, Megan McKeon and Saoirse Wynne.


Best of luck to the Roscommon Minor team who are through to the All Ireland Semi final V's Meath on Saturday 15th July. Venue and time tbc. Boyle players Sinead Glennon, Aine Mullins and Roisin Wynne.

Update 3rd July

The Cooney Motors sponsored juniors who were defeated by St. Faithleach's in the Junior B championship on Saturday last. Their next outing is against St. Faithleach's in the division 5 league Friday July 7th, in Abbey Park at 8pm.

The club would to thank the following who made Friday nights Road to Croker event such a success:  All panellists who have given of their time to be with us on the night, Boyle GAA is very proud to have assembled such an illustrious line up; Alan Cooney and Cooney Motors/Cooney Centra; Dara Callaghan of O’Dowd Solictors; Connacht Council and John Prenty for his support; Aaron Sharkey from the Moylurg Inn; Martin Purcell and Purcell Print: Kilglass Gaels GAA Club; donations received from Axe Foresty and David Cawley; the local media and in particular Real Boyle and Boyle Today for the publicity; to everyone involved in preparing the Hall for the event, in constructing the stage, and in particular Keith and Tom for the sound and the lighting; also to Pure Flowers, John Keville and David O Connor, thanks to all Boyle GAA Committee members for helping stage the event, to  the Irish Kidney Association for agreeing to be associated with this event and finally, a very special thanks to Tom Morley our senior team manager for all the work he has put in making the night possible.
